It is also a tool that is a step further towards terminology management automation. It is not only a self-learning terminology extraction system, recognizing grammar rules, and supporting multiple languages and file formats, but also a system integrated with an online database to create together an automatic search system that is able to check the correctness of terminology used in translations.

KeyStone Editor™ — a module that automates and streamlines text verification in its broad sense — is our licensed product.

The demo version allows for grammar-form based terminology verification in Polish, English, and German in bilingual files using glossaries in different formats. In addition, you can filter and search bilingual files, generate error reports, and save the results in an internal format.

The full version of the tool offers many other functions described below.

As editing, we understand a stage of handling a translation from the moment of receiving translated files to starting post-processing phase that is converting files to their original format, preparing for printing, compilation, etc. This is the most troublesome stage of working with bilingual files - it includes a formal correctness control, terminology, style, grammar, spelling and coherence checks, as well as implementing all the corrections and creating an error report.

Until now, the editing procedure consisted of some tasks performed automatically, e.g. spell-checking, checking formal correctness and coherence, and very time-consuming tasks performed manually like text reading and introducing corrections of grammar, style and substance. Our solution not only improves the automated procedures but also facilitates and accelerates manual procedures in the same way in which CAT tools facilitate and accelerate the translation process. Moreover, the KeyStone™ application allows a user both implementing corrections in bilingual files of various formats and creating an error report containing a detailed verification of the translation according to the LISA standard, without any additional work needed.

Terminology verification procedure not only enables a user to effectively check whether the required terminology was used but also to create a terminology database - using bilingual or just source files.

The main features of KeyStone™

  • Automated quality assurance (checking of markup, translation length, punctuation, numerals, spelling, regular expressions compliance, etc.),
  • Semi-automated translation coherence and terminology control,
  • “One-click” error categorization and correction implementation,
  • ErrorMemory - storing previously entered corrections and their automated implementation when the same or similar error is encountered,
  • Generating reports for translators with a detailed error list and scoring,
  • Implementing corrections to bilingual files with change tracking.

In addition to the linguistic quality control capabilities, KeyStone™ is also a part of our terminology management system, featuring:

  • Generating bilingual terminology databases from any bilingual file format (RTF, TTX, TMX, XLIFF, etc.),
  • Generating monolingual terminology lists for specialized glossaries creation,
  • Creating bilingual glossaries from translated files (TTX, RTF, XLIFF and others), Translation Memories (TMX) and text files.

The KeyStone™ application significantly improves the quality of our work. It enables faster and more accurate editing, as well as providing translators with editor’s comments in a clear manner that enables them to learn from their mistakes on their own. This tool is also a very advanced terminology management system, supporting the extraction from documents and enabling customers and translators to access it online and its export to any translation aiding application. Thanks to this solution, Centrum Lokalizacji CM holds a leading position among translation and localization service providers.
