Even the best software tools and a perfect localization project preparation do not guarantee that the localized version of the software will be free from errors. These errors may be caused by the flaws in the source files, resulting from incorrect internationalization. This leads to a situation when elements that must remain in the original version are randomly changed or the translated text does not fit the specified space. Moreover, during translation there is usually no access to the full context for all software strings, thus the translator is unable to properly interpret the meaning of an ambiguous expression.
That is why testing is a necessary stage in any localization process. Its purpose is not only to check the operation of the localized software, but also to verify the correctness of translation for each interface element and to check if it is consistent with help files and/or documentation.

C&M Localization Center offers remote and on-site software testing services. Our employees gained their experience while being involved in testing of various types of applications - from operation systems to Internet portals - including IBM software localization. Our portfolio includes both functional (checking if the localized version operates just as the original one) and linguistic testing (contextual quality control, consistency check). If the software is localized by our company, testing is a part of the service and is already included in its cost. You can also request testing of materials localized by other companies.
