KeyStone™ Terminology Database Management System, an Important Innovation Towards Automated Translation, Extends Our Offer.

The traditional approach towards the creation of an industry-specific terminology database involves reading the entire document and manual extraction of appropriate terms, or converting bilingual documents contaning wordlists, such as a translation of application interface or technical specification. None of these methods is effective and both are extremely time-consuming.

There are of course many applications facilitating the creation of terminology databases, but they are only tools for computer assisted terminology management, which is still for the most part handled by a human. What we really need are the tools for human-aided computer terminology management.

KeyStone™ is a step in this direction. It is a self-learning terminology extraction system supporting multiple languages and file formats, recognizing grammar, and being able to operate as an online database, automatic search system or even a tool for the verification of terminology use.

The most important functionalities of KeyStone™ are:

arrowCustomizable advanced grammar recognition,
arrowEditable lists of common words, backed up with the system's self-learning capabilities,
arrowCreation of bilingual dictionaries on the basis of the bilingual files (TTX, RTF), Translation Memories (TMX) and text files,
arrowCustomized terminology databases accessible online by translators and project managers (depending on the access rights) as well as import/export from or to various file formats,
arrowAutomatic database search during translation, regardless of software used,
arrowEfficient verification of the use of terminology in translated files.

KeyStone™ not only elicits the proper use of terminology but also makes work easier for customers as they can access their own terminology in mulitpile languages at any time via a web browser.
