EACL 2009 Conference.

On March 30 to April 3, 2009 the 12th conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) was held in Athens.

One of the key points of the program was a two-day workshop on the current state of knowledge and the advancements being made in the field of machine translation. A C&M representative took part in this workshop to assess the potential use of certain elements of machine translation and quality assurance algorithms in applications developed by C&M.

Even though the current state of research on machine translation still does not give rise to hope for an efficient system that would fully replace a human being in the near future, a number of algorithms will allow to increase the performance of the KeyStone™ system, which is used for computer-aided terminology management and proofreading. We will provide up-to-date information on the progress of this work on our website.
